Dodgers News: Kiké Hernandez Reveals He’s Staying at Rich Hill’s LA Home

With the trade deadline in the rearview window, players who have changed teams are going to need some time to settle into their new cities both on and off the field. For Kiké Hernandez, he has the luxury of being traded to a team that he already knows.

Now that he is in Los Angeles for his second stint with the Dodgers, Hernandez is using the help of some old friends to get used to LA once again.

From now until the end of the season, Kiké will have the luxury of living in former teammate Rich Hill’s LA house.

In a recent conversation with the Foul Territory podcast, Hernandez described his living situation since being moved from Boston.

“Luckily we have some former friends who still have places in LA, like Rich Hill, and that is where I will be bunking in for the next three months,” said Hernandez.

Hill, who was also moved in a trade deadline deal from the Pirates to the Padres, owned a house in LA during his time with the Dodgers from 2016-2019. Now that he no longer plays in the market, the house is rented out.

Luckily for Hernandez, the people who were renting Hill’s house had their lease expire two weeks before the trade. Since the home was left vacant, Hernandez seamlessly moved in and will be staying there until further notice.

Living in Hill’s house was not the only thing Hernandez was looking forward to when he came back to LA. The City of Angels is known for its great weather and Kiké is ready for the change of clothing from Boston.

“It gets pretty cold in mid-August in Boston, so I’m looking forward to never having to wear sleeves again.”

Now that he is back in LA and living in Hill’s house, Hernandez is working on getting the lefty back to the Dodgers.

With the front office trend of getting back former Dodgers through trade, Hernandez suggested Hill come back so they can be roommates in the house.

For now, Sunday’s game against the Padres while Rich Hill makes his Friars debut against the Dodgers it might get a little awkward.
