MEQUON, Wis. – The Kalamazoo Growlers got hot at the perfect time a year ago, winning the last five games of the regular season and going a perfect 4-0 in the postseason to claim their first Northwoods League championship. They earned playoff contention by winning the Great Lakes East division in the first half of the season with a 22-14, going 14-21 in the second half for an overall record of 36-35.
