Starting Pitchers
Hunter Greene
After struggling for much of May, Hunter Greene closed out the month with his best start of the season with six hitless innings against the Cubs where he walked two and struck out 11 batters.
When it comes to lefties and righties, Hunter Greene pitches much better against lefties than he does righties. This season lefties have an OPS of .630 against him while hitting for way less power and striking out significantly more often. Righties are hitting well across the board against him, with a .904 OPS and plenty of power. Not shown below in his splits are the home and road splits, which are significant. His OPS against on the road is 142 points lower and his ERA is 1.77 runs lower.

Chris Sale
It was a tough start to the season for Chris Sale. Through his first five starts his ERA was 8.22 and he had allowed 30 hits and 10 walks in 23.0 innings pitched. In his next five starts he posted a 2.23 ERA with just 20 hits and four walks in 32.1 innings.
Left-handed hitters have been able to find success against Chris Sale this season – but with a caveat. Teams just aren’t allowing many lefties to face him. He’s only had to face a lefty 38 times this season in his 10 games and it’s only been the best of the best teams had to offer. Right-handed hitters haven’t been too successful against him, posting a .699 OPS against him on the year.
