BATON ROUGE, La – After two hard-fought losses, Tennessee served immediate notice that game three would be different. The Vols were not going to be swept this weekend at Alex Box Stadium, no matter how talented the top-ranked Tigers were.
The first six batters of the game reached, and the Volunteers chased LSU starter Thatcher Hurd before he retired a batter. Before the home team ever picked up a bat, Tennessee put six runs on the board. The Vols added four more in the second and secured a 14-7 victory Saturday to complete the three-game series.
