WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. — The hottest college baseball team in the country that no one is talking about may reside in Boston, and we’re not talking about the Bird Ball group from Chestnut Hill. Instead the answer resides about five miles east not far from Fenway Park where a bunch of blue-collar ballers have won nine in a row for the second time this season following a doubleheader sweep at Monmouth Friday afternoon.
