Former Dodger Justin Turner Shows Graphic Images of Face Injury After Getting Hit by Pitch

Old friend and former Dodger All-Star Justin Turner is back healthy and on the field after a scary incident earlier this month. The new Red Sox infielder got hit in the face by a fastball two weeks ago and walked off the field dazed and bleeding. He was rushed to a local hospital where he came out with the best case scenario only requiring stitches and rest.

On Monday, JT returned to the Boston lineup and promptly got a base hit to right field. After the game, he expressed his appreciation to the Red Sox and to fans for their concern and words of encouragement. He also posted a video on Instagram showing the recovery process from start to finish.

Turner shared 22 images showing the healing progression from day one to his return.

Here’s what he had to say in the description section.

“Been a crazy 2 weeks but felt good to be back on the field again! Thank you everyone for all the love and support!”

On the broadcast of the Red Sox game on NESN, he expanded on his gratitude.

“So many people reaching out through text and social media and checking in on me and seeing how I was, it was just awesome. And then the Red Sox, the organization and the way they handled it from the training staff, the doctors in the hospital. It was first class all the way.

Welcome back to the field, JT!
