Reds made 5 roster cuts
The team made some roster cuts this afternoon prior to the game. The team optioned pitchers Lyon Richardson and Levi Stoudt, as well as utility man Nick Solak to the minor leagues. Catcher Chuckie Robinson and reliever Jared Solomon were reassigned to minor league camp. You can read about how each was performing in our article about the moves published earlier today.
Christian Encarnacion-Strand is killing it
Not that you needed to be told that Christian Encarnacion-Strand was tearing the cover off of the ball, but we’re here to tell you anyways. In spring training he’s leading everyone or tied at the top of the list in home runs, runs batted in, hits, extra-base hits, total bases, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS. He’s hitting an absurd .625/.600/1.292 with an OPS of 1.892.
