Justin Dunn to miss several months
In what has to feel like a never ending saga for Justin Dunn, his visit to a specialist in New York came with some good and some bad news. The good news is that his shoulder injury that’s plagued him for more than a year and a half still does not require surgery. The bad news is that he’s got to shut things down for several months to rest the injury. It’s possible he could return to pitch this year if things go as hoped.
“I can hit a little bit”
Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer wrote about prospect Christian Encarnacion-Strand, who enters the day hitting .625 through the first five games he’s played this spring. It’s got some interesting parts in there, about how he wound up at Yavapai Junior College and how that was more beneficial in his mind than going to a D-1 school, how working with Matt Holliday and Robin Ventura helped him hit for more power, and a few other interesting notes.
