Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas left Sunday’s game early with what turned out to be a right foot cramp. He left the game in the third inning, and went back to the Dodgers clubhouse.
He spoke to the media in the clubhouse, and provided an update on his condition. He said it was just a normal cramp — something he’s dealt with before — and he should be good to go for tomorrow’s game.
Rojas added that he just needs to hydrate a little more, which would help prevent another cramp in the future.
This is a huge relief for Rojas and Dodger fans, as the last thing the team wants is for someone to get hurt in spring training.
Rojas is also planning on playing for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic, so the Dodgers wanted to get him a ton of work early in spring to get him used to playing with his new teammates.
He said he should be good to go in the lineup on Monday, but we’ll see if that ends up being Dave Roberts’ plan.
