CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Travis Luensmann had an uneasy feeling watching the Miami Hurricanes take batting practice prior to Friday night’s season opener.
“They were hitting bombs over the scoreboard, left and right, over the nets and into the parking deck,” said Luensmann, Penn State’s starting pitcher.
“It was eye-opening to see all these hitters and what they do with the ball.”
Penn State coach Rob Cooper was wary, too, especially of Canes third baseman Yohandy “Yo-Yo” Morales, a violent hitter who is projected to get selected in the first round of this year’s MLB Draft.
