The 2022 season was a breakthrough for UTSA in coach Pat Hallmark’s third season at the helm, with its 38 wins the most for the program since 2008 and its 19 conference wins the most since 2009.
It was also the first time since the NCAA Tournament field expanded to 64 teams in 1999 that the Roadrunners have been in the thick of the at-large discussion. They have been to two regionals in that time (2005 and 2013), but those bids came via winning the Southland and WAC Tournaments, respectively.
